9This lace flower doily was knit in a brown tweed yarn for a more rustic look. If knit in a traditional ivory or white cotton, the stitch definition will be more precise. You may use any weight yarn and appropriate needles; the finished size of the doily will change. It features a large center flower, surrounded by eyelets around the entire piece, and finally ends with a triangular eyelet edging. Size: 11½" in diameter after blocking Gauge: 20 sts=4" in St st Materials: Approx 93 yards/85 meters sportweight or DK weight yarn Size 4 US (3.5 mm) double pointed needles - set of 3 Instructions CO 8 sts, 3 on one needle, 3 on one needle, and 2 on one needle. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Be careful to not drop double yo's off needle by accident. 2. Each yo counts as one st. 3. As you repeat the edging rows, you will slowly decrease the 96 sts from the beginning portion of the doily. 4. Turn at the end of each row. Using the Cable Cast On, CO 8 sts.
